In only our second month of existence (with Trekking NI, not as human beings!), we had the privilege of featuring a number of brilliant articles from seasoned hikers and photographers, which I’m sure many of you have enjoyed perusing. From tales of walking the length of Ireland, to shooting sunsets at Spelga, to scaling mountain stairways in Fermanagh, we drew from a rich variety of experiences from our kind contributors.
Here’s how October played out…
Our October trekkers were James Carlisle, David Guenot, Christopher Somerville, Hugh Annett and Robbie Carson, each of whom shared their experiences hiking in their favourite spots in Northern Ireland, which included (but were not limited to) Slieve Binnian, the Moyle Way, the Wild Atlantic Way, and the Trassey Track up to Slieve Bearnagh. It was great to hear how these five gents have been impacted by the beauty of Northern Ireland over the years – do have a read of their articles and see if they resonate with you.
Photographers in Focus
October also saw our first two Photographers in Focus take to the stage. We had Christine of Christine Jennifer Photography share about her charity calendars and her love of the Fermanagh lakelands, while Ryan of Ryan McDonald Photography…
We had two awesome feature articles this month, both written by Derek Flack. In the first, we were whisked off to Fermanagh to walk the boards of Cuilcagh Mountain, while the second took us to the mysterious summit of Slieve Gullion in Armagh. Derek’s articles are always great – definitely have a read of both!
Finally, I actually contributed something myself for a change! Check out my blog post on Doan below…
It’s been a busy month for Trekking NI, and we have plenty more in the works for the coming months. Thanks again for all your support, and enjoy your November trekking around Our Wee Country!
