THE SPERRINS (16th October 2021)

A spirited Trekking NI travelled to Co Tyrone to explore The Sperrins Mountains. The Sperrins were shy in revealing themselves taking cover in a thick mist which descended low into the valleys. Undeterred, we ventured into the mysterious fog and we too became secluded from the outside world. We reached the summit of Dart then travelled towards Learmount before returning to Glenelly Road. Throughout the hike, there was an excitement in the anticipation of what would be revealed next as we advanced through the fog. It was a wet and cold hike, especially in the long grass and exposed high ground but this added to the sense of adventure. Also the company was wonderful and cheerful which presented its own sense of escapism making this a memorable hike.
