On a splendid summer morning, Trekking NI set off for a scenic loop around the majestic Eagle Mountain. The group assembled at the reclusive Sandy Brae benefiting from the blissful ambience that rests there. They undertook a journey featuring Slievemoughanmore, Wee Slievemoughan, Tormanrock, Altaggart Mountain, Tievedockaragh and Eagle Mountain. On this delightful journey the group of happy hikers brought gratified hearts and glamorous smiles with The Mournes responding in kind wearing their finest green cloak as far as the eye could see and decorated with beautiful purple heather. The landscape was illuminated with the perfect amount of sunshine and the Cliffs of Eagle were as magnificent as ever. This was a great hike that provided a glorious presentation of the Mourne ecosystem at it’s beautiful best.
