MOURNE COUNTRY PARK & KNOCKCREE (12th NOVEMBER 2022)

Trekking NI enjoyed a fantastic walk through the once reclusive Mourne Country Park exploring an ancient woodland, that has not been accessible to the public for over 500 years, before summiting knockcree to benefit from beautiful views of the Mournes. The group walked upon an amber carpet of autumn leaves adjacent a vibrant river as they enjoyed stories about the local area and its surrounds. Upon the green plateau of Knockcree the group enjoyed views of lush green land extending to the golden horizons where the ocean became illuminated with a heavenly glow under the sun. This was an enjoyable hike offering a diverse nature experience with woodland treks and mountain summits.
